What do you do when you’re not pole dancing (work/school/hobbies?)?
When I’m not pole dancing, working, or taking pictures of my lovely pets ️ I’m somewhere in downtown having coffee, food or wine with my boyfriend or my friends
How did you first discover pole dancing?
My friends and I are always looking for activities to do together and we found the brass vixens promo on Groupon and we thought it had to be fun
Do you have any previous dance, fitness or sports experience?
I took all kind of dancing classes when I was little and I also spent every birthday party, every holiday, and almost every weekend dancing with friends and family.
Family reunions were all about music,
we all used to dance together we practiced our choreographies and performed for our grandparents.
Our Latin culture is all about music, different rhythms and styles and it always makes me smile from my heart and my soul and honestly Latinas can dance pretty much everything
What made you feel pole dancing could be for you and decide to try it?
It was very exciting because I had no idea what we were actually going to do,
my idea of pole dancing was more like a walk around the pole pretending to be a stripper for a day but without the tips
I thought it would be like a bachelorette party every day for a whole month,
I didn’t know it was such a good workout 🙂
How did you come to be a member at Brass Vixens?
It was love at first sight! I canceled my gym membership the very next day after my first pole beginner class because this was exactly what i needed the kind of workout that I can enjoy no gym no weight lifting, no running!
What were your first impressions?
That there was no way I could ever do it right, in a perfect way or the perfect time,
or being as sexy and feminine as these incredible ladies because students or instructors they all looked like professional dancers. However, it amazed me how beautiful was to be in a room full of women embracing their femininity, being all so different, our cultures, our body shapes, our styles but, at the same time we were all connected to the music to the dance and in my heart, it felt like the right place for me.
What keeps you committed to pole dancing?
Pole dancing is a challenge every day in every single way, it’s therapeutic, it makes my body stronger, my mind healthier, and my soul brighter and happier.
I always enjoy yoga, Zumba and other classes but i noticed that in less than a month pole dancing there were so many positive changes in my body that made me even more excited! besides that it’s a place where I find beautiful people that I adore and enjoy sharing our achievements, our poles, or bottle of-dry hands to keep us trying and challenging ourselves.
What do you feel is a crucial element for a successful class experience?
Being myself makes me succeed every time, enjoy my own style and connect to my roots makes me dance with passion always trying to find the way it feels good my body.
What has been an exciting moment for you on your pole journey?
My first troupe It was an amazing group and even though we were all nervous we smile at each other the whole time and we nailed it!
